Interested in joining OCEMS?

We'll be honest...Oldham County EMS is a great place to work. Our convenient 12 -hour shifts and 36-hour work week give you more time to spend with your family and friends. And unlike many other EMS agencies, we rarely hold people over for a shift.

peopleOur pay is very competitive for the region and especially good considering the run volume (we make around 5,000 runs a year).

We have nothing but the best equipment and all of it is expertly maintained so our folks can concentrate on the care of the patient.

We work in extremely inviting surroundings with televisions, comfortable bunk rooms, access to state-of-the-art training aids, several computer work stations and WiFi. And the county is an idealic blend of farmland and small town charm. But most of all, we have some great people to work with.

Applying for employment

We are continually adding part-timers on our staff. And we usually hire our full-time staff from our part-timers. If you're interested in joining our department, click here and fill out the online application. Keep in mind that we only review the applications when we're trying to fill vacancies so don't be disappointed if we don't get back to you immediately.

Whether you're looking for a job or just skills that can help you through life, becoming an EMT is a good idea. You'll always have a marketable skill, and you'll have the confidence of handling most any emergency.

While we don't routinely offer EMT classes, we can usually point you in the right direction. Just contact us for more information. Also, if you're not sure you're cut out to be an EMT or Medic, you're more than welcome to ride out on one of emergency ambulances. Just give us a call at (502) 222-7250. Due to insurance regulations, you must be 16 years or older.
